I first opened my shop in 2019 on Etsy and have grown my small business from just making candles to selling hand sewn goods and stationery. I've rebranded a few times while also testing out becoming a vendor at local farmers markets. There's been so much good that has happened and I feel really blessed to have built a tiny but mighty community. But this is only a part-time gig for me and as much as I would love to work on my shop full-time I've stretched myself too thin managing my shop, being a mother and working within the tech industry as a marketer.

Then this past summer I was laid off from my job which left me feeling a bit hopeless and uninspired. So I had put my small business on the back burner and focused on what my next step would be...

After a lot of brainstorming and considering what I really wanted to do professionally, I decided going back to school would be a great step forward. Through my small business, I've learned that I'm the happiest when I'm able to create things. After a looooot of planning, I decided that I would go back to school to get my second Bachelor's in Interior Design with a minor in Graphic Design.

I've already completed my first semester this past fall and couldn't be happier! I plan to take time to think about where I want to take my shop and whether I need to shake things up a bit (you might even already notice a few changes). While I figure that out - I'm going to put my shop on pause for the foreseeable future.
